Enormous increase in use of flights for leisure, business and personal purpose.
In last few years’ world has witnessed
drastic enhancement in many areas in terms of technology & its reachability
to large set of people. This also increases the affordability of various
leisure items for bourgeois and upper middle class people, use of aircraft is
one of them. According to an article in recent publication the usage of flights
by commoner has been increased more than 60% in last 5 years. Due to this many
companies are focusing towards aviation and related industries like tourism,
hotel accommodation etc.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Flights
As world’s economy is expanding day
by day and no single economy can survive without the dependency of other, introducing
airplane & and enhancements in the area of making it affordable to
everyone, acts like a real savior. Many companies are now able to expand their
business verticals to different part of the world which would not be possible
without domestic and international flights. It goes with the saying “Time is
Money” and flights do enables us to save the time.
In spite of having various
advantages of flights, there are few but lethal disadvantages. First and
foremost, the operating cost of flights is too high, mainly due to the fuel
used by airlines, without knowing the fact that and the pollutants discharge is
very harmful for the atmosphere. Moreover, to operate these airlines a good
infrastructure is mandatory which comes at the cost of damaging forests and
destroying natural habitats.
Taxes and Fees
Onto the different perspective,
functioning of airlines are governed by airport authorities by imposing various
taxes customer and operating agencies. Few years back these taxes are used to
be exorbitant and was actually greater than the basic fare of the trip.
According to me these taxes should be balanced and regulated by central
government and should be based on the distance of the journey. It should be
such that it maintains affordability and its value can be preserved too.
